Motor But

But but but… Jesus,… Butbutbutbutbutbut…

Well, how about it? Are you as guilty as I? If you didn’t read the two previous devo posts go back and take a look so you have some context. Do we seriously, really argue with the One who created this Universe from scratch? If you have kids you can imagine God’s perspective and if you have some friends who don’t agree with you all the time and aren’t afraid to say it you’ve got the basic picture. And imagine you are RIGHT and they are convinced you’re completely wrong. The buts start flying. Now imagine you created the universe. Imagine you are in charge, only you are right, and you constantly get the buts. Pretty arrogant, huh?

Now what if you know they know you’re right and they but you anyway? That takes some tremendous gall to pull off. It’s a good thing I’m not God. Now let’s not imagine anymore and get back to the reality of someone who is following Jesus.

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live…
Galatians 2:20 NASB

Why do I sound so alive?

“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
Luke 9:23 NIV

Deny myself? But Jesus, I _______ …

Forgive!

Butbutbutbutbutbutbutbutbut

I wonder if Jesus sounded like a motor-but as he prayed to Father in anguish over what my self-life, my but-Jesus-life, was about to cost him.

The story so far: No rocks. No gavel. Do not judge. Do not worry. Get up. Let your chains fall off. Walk out of the prison. Forgive. Watch your step. But Jesus,.
